Moving Forward

Bellaire Volleyball Fans,

Hurricane Harvey has devastated our community and most of the Texas Gulf Coast. That being said, I never before observed a community come together like we have.  In the aftermath of this terrible tragedy, the support, caring and often heroic actions of people in our area simply overwhelmed the media's negative narratives and demonstrated how the wonderful we respond to adversity.  

In that spirit, it was excited to see the Lady Cards return to The Nest today for a full-on volleyball practice.  Word is there was some "rust removal" work needed; but, the courts were filled with enthusiastic and competitive athletes.  The team calendar is up-to-date on with entries for canceled matches and new schedule.  A summary of this week's schedule is as follows:

Current Week:
 - Wednesday, 10 am - 12 noon: Practice
 - Thursday, 10 am - 12 noon: Practice
 - Friday, 10 am - 12 noon: Practice
 - Friday, 5 pm: Team Building Event (Dinner and Rice Volleyball Game) 

Friday's Team Building Event
 -  WHAT: Team Dinner AND Rice Volleyball Game 
 -  WHERE: Buca di Beppo (5192 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77005)
 -  WHEN: 5 PM (we will be seated at 5 pm sharp, please arrive early)
 -  COST
      - $0 for players (admission and dinner)
      - $15 in advance for non-players (volleyball game admission AND Buca di Beppo Dinner) please give $ to team mom or David Hawes
      - $8 for Rice game admission at the door
      - Adults may order off the menu at Buca di Beppo; but, must sit separately from the team.


Logistics: arrive at Buca di Beppo before 5 pm.  We'll eat dinner together, all the coaches have confirmed they will be at the dinner.  Depart by 6:15 pm; caravaning over to Rice University Tudor Fieldhouse (parents will drive).  The Rice vs California game begins at 7pm.  Bellaire Volleyball will be recognized during the game.  Players must check with their coach prior to departing the Rice Volleyball game.  We will not be providing transportation from Rice University Tudor Fieldhouse.
