The Lady Cardinals performed very well last week in the Spring Branch ISD volleyball tournament; winning fourth place.

Thursday, Bellaire finished second in their pool with a win over Hightower and close lost to Tomball Memorial.  On Friday, Bellaire defeated Kingwood (25-22, 18-25, 25- 21) in an exciting first round bracket match.  The following day, Saturday, Bellaire continued bracket play with a huge win over Cy-Fair (25-20 ,21-5, 25-22).  With the win, the Lady Cardinals were headed to the semi-finals for the second year in a row.  Then, as luck would have it, the injury bug bit the Lady Cards.  With several key players on the sidelines, Bellaire yielded to the eventual tournament champion Klein (22-25, 18-25).  In the consolation match against College Park, Bellaire played a 6-2 system enabling every player able to play get on the court.  The tournament was a great opportunity to develop younger players and challenge the more experienced players.

After the tournament, Ap Clark said "It was another great experience at the Spring Branch ISD Volleyball tournament."

Megan Evans was named to the All-tournament team.  This is Megan's second time to receive honors from the Spring Branch Tournament, as she was named Most Valuable Setter in 2015.

Congratulations Megan!
