Best of luck to all the Bellaire Cardinals as they return to school today!

For volleyball players, the week before school starts is always one of the busiest.  ISDs hold their pre-season tournaments and nearly every high school typically schedules two pre-conference matches during this week.  Throw in a couple of practices, last minute shopping for back school supplies and clothes....and girls find it's a very busy time!

Spring Branch ISD Tournament

The 2015 Cardinals continue to make history.  A couple of weeks ago, the Lady Cardinals made it into the Gold Bracket of the Pearland Tournament for the first time in school history.  This week they won the Spring Branch ISD tournament for the first time in school history.  After a sweeping lost to Fort Bend Austin the prior week, Saturday the Cardinals took on the defending Spring Branch ISD champions and whooped the Austin Bulldogs in a best 2 out of 3 match to play Cy-Fair for the championship.  The Cardinals went on to defeat a very good Bobcat team in three sets without a full complement of players.

Three Bellaire Cardinals received all-tournament honors.  Maya Evans was named to the all-tournament team, Megan Evans was named Setter MVP and Sundara Chinn was named overall tournament MVP....oh yea, that was first in school history too!  Make sure you read the article by Jack Marrion from The Examiner in today's email.  He does an excellent job recapping Bellaire's huge win!

Clear Springs and St Agnes
On Tuesday, Clear Springs invaded The Nest on Maple Street with likely the most powerful team the Cardinals will play until playoffs.  With 4 players coming off USAV national championships, the Chargers provided some stiff competition for the Cardinals.  Bellaire played them extremely tough; but, yielded to the team which finished 6th in the 2015 Adidas Texas Volleyball Invitational Tournament.  The Cardinals went to St Agnes later in the week to skin the Tigers.  The Freshmen Chicks match got the house rocking with the closest competition on the books this season.  The varsity dominated the Tigers and the JV competed well against a very experienced; but, young Tiger JV squad.

KHOU Athletes of the Week
If you missed it, KHOU featured Megan and Maya Evans as KHOU's Athletes of the Week!  Here is their story on
