The Cardinals opened district competition last week against Reagan and Westbury.  None of Cardinal teams dropped a set; sweeping every match in straight set wins.

First up was Reagan, the Freshmen delivered again on their exciting brand of volleyball; beating Reagan in two sets (25-17, 25-20).  Fans enjoy a close match; but, Coach Tomlinson admitted she would enjoy seeing crisper execution and greater focus from her players.  The Cardinal fans love seeing the youngest competitors in the gym win and they did so again against Westbury.  Tuesday night, The Chicks hammered Westbury (25-4, 25-6).  Coach Tomlinson had to work hard to get players on the floor, because Westbury was unable to put up more than 6 points in a set.

The JV Cardinals were pedestrian in their disassembly of Reagan and Westbury.  JV swept Reagan (25-8, 25-3); not allowing the Bulldogs to compete a rotation in the second set.  Tuesday night, the Huskies were not able to complete a rotation (6 players serving) in either set as Bellaire dispatched Westbury (25-2 25-5).

Off campus, the Varsity swept both Reagan and Westbury in three sets.  Coach Clarke was able to get every Cardinal player into each the match.  Neither opponent was able to exceed 10 points in any of the 6 sets played.
