The Bellaire Volleyball community is mourning the loss of Jade Robinson, her sister, and another former Bellaire High student. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy.

Jade was a captain of the most successful volleyball team in Bellaire High School history. She received a first team all-district honor this season and was a stand-out player in the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club. This fall, she would play volleyball for Tennessee Wesleyan College. As an emotional floor leader, undoubtedly, Jade was major force behind the Lady Cardinals’ success.

The cliché “outstanding player; but an even better person” fits Jade Robinson perfectly. She held herself to a high standard and expected the same from others. She used an infectious smile and vivacious personality to motivate a room or build up and support a young player or classmate with compassion and humility. Throughout the Bellaire High community, Jade is described as a leader, role model and friend. From first hand experience, she was all those things and so much more.

Jade was the girl who had everything going her way; personality, beauty, intelligence, college scholarship, athletic skills and very close friends who love her and respect her. The younger girls looked up to her, teachers appreciated her and parents wouldn’t mind if their own kids were hanging out with her.

We will miss Jade, immeasurably.

When learning of this tragedy, those of us who knew Jade grappled with why the Lord decided to take such a good one so early. She had given so much which was good and would keep positively impacting those near her.  Struggling with this, a long time Bellaire Volleyball supporter shared the following....perhaps it will also comfort you.

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

To Jade's family, we pray the Lord takes your burden and reveals His plan to comfort you. Thank you for being a part of our area's great volleyball community and know the Robinsons will always be a very special part of our Bellaire Volleyball family.

For those who wish to show support, we are grateful to the Houston Juniors Volleyball Club for setting up a donation page HERE
