The Bellaire Lady Cardinal Volleyball program completely dominated the Westbury Huskies volleyball teams. The Freshmen, JV and Varsity teams required only the minimum number of sets to easily secure district wins against the visiting Huskies.
Tuesday night against Westbury allowed the freshmen to get another district win under their belts. The contest showed off the Cardinal serving they have spent so much time practicing. In the first set, a kill from Codi Fillmore was all that was needed to keep Medina behind the serving line as she came within one point of serving a perfect game. Madelyn Montgomery served up an ace to wrap up the first set 25-1. The second set was much of the same with the freshmen winning 25-2. This time Megan Hafer and Sydney Sizemore shared serving duties and Chelluh McGill produced the second set's only kill. Coach Tomlinson said after the match; "the girls stayed focused and played the game they know how to play as they successfully earned their second district win."
What the freshmen almost accomplished, the Lady Cardinal JV Squad achieved with a perfect 25-0 set win. The Cardinals were prevented from rotating in the first set when their first server, Rachel Nolte, served a perfect game. After blanking the Huskies 25-0 in the first set, the cardinals saw serving runs from Libby Lorenz and Lilly Kirkland; who both added 11 points to win the second set (25-5). In a match where the Cardinals out scored their opponent 50 to 5, Coach Martin appreciated her team by saying: "The team stayed focused and played well."
The Varsity match against Westbury was no more competitive than the Freshmen and JV matches. Coach Clarke was able to get everyone onto the floor in another overwhelming victory 3-0 (25-4, 25-4, 25-11). Coach Clarke said after the match; "I like how we stayed focused on our execution and kept our competitive intensity."
