The varsity competed very well in the Spring Branch tournament.  After taking first place in their pool by beating Spring Woods 2-0 and YES Prep 2-0 in the opening matches; the Lady Cardinals split two sets against the St Agnes Tigers.  In the first set, the Tigers needed extra points to beat the Cards (25-27).  In the second set, the Lady Cardinals took care business sending the home with a Tigers 25-21 loss to set up a great preseason match on Maple Street the following night.

As winners of their pool, Bellaire drew Klein in the first round of bracket play on Friday.  Bellaire came out red-hot; taking the first set 25-15.  Then Klein regained it's footing winning the second and third sets 19-25 and 18-25 respectively.  Klein was a great test for Bellaire and this setback set the stage for a great evening at home against the St Agnes Tigers.

Fresh off an emotional win over St Agnes the night before, Bellaire came out on fire and took two sets from Cy-Fair (25-16, 25-22).  The Cardinals looked sharp hitting, passing and serving very well.  The Cardinals took a very good Cy-Fair team out of their rhythm the entire match.  In the next match, Dulles took Bellaire to three sets as fatigue began to set in for the Cardinals. Bellaire dropped the match to Dulles 23-25, 25-13, 23-25 as nearly every Cardinal made it on to the floor.
