The freshmen continue to develop in the preseason schedule as these players entering high school become acclimated to the speed and quickness found in 6 A volleyball. The Clear Springs freshmen held off Bellaire 10-25, 11-25. The JV team competed hard; but, also yielded to the JV Charger squad (19-25, 13-25). After dropping the firs set, the Varsity refocused and handily took the second set. In a thrilling third set, both teams made great runs with the Chargers finally edging the Cardinals into overtime points. The emotional swings were exhausting and the Cardinals were pushed hard to yield the fourth and deciding set. Coach Clarke said after the match; "Lost to a good team, but we are getting better each match." The Varsity's final score sheet was 1-3 (13-25, 25-22, 27-29, 21-25); but, it was great competition against a very good Clear Springs team. |
